Polly and I have been keeping busy with commercials and docs this past month, but I found enough of a window last week to pull together some talented compadres who were generous enough to turn my chicken scratch into the multi-tracked, make-shift jazz orchestra in the video above. American Portfolios (2011, dir. Nicholas LaClair, 9 min.) portrays the arrival of this independent financial firm that opened and closed its doors on the morning of September 11th, 2001.

It was a pleasure to work with the string trio of Elizabeth Luttinger, Emily Elkin, and Polly Hall within the context of director/photographer Nicholas LaClair’s incisive eye.

Sister (2011)

Sister (2011, dir. Brenda Davis, 92 min.) is a gripping documentary feature portraying the stark maternal health crisis facing developing nations today. Told by the local health workers and midwives of Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Haiti, Sister is at once a harrowing and touching glimpse at the visceral reality facing millions of families around the globe each year. The score was recorded in our Santa Monica studio and features choral, orchestral, ambient, and world elements. Many thanks to Elizabeth Luttinger, Matty George, Polly Hall, and Ross Helford for their contributions to the soundscape.

AFTER THE STORM (written by Colen C. Wiley, director of the 2009 short Quietly) won the Urbanworld Screenplay Competition sponsored by BET & HBO. See an NYC reading of selected portions of the script in front of an audience of industry reps and friends on Friday 9/16 @ 3:00pm at the Paramount Theater in Times Square. Congrats to Cole, looking forward to seeing this powerful story come to life.

Local PBS picks up ‘The Modern Man’
